According to Ryan Glasspiegel and Ben Horney of Front Office Sports, LeBron James‘ endorsement contract with the contentious prediction market Polymarket is apparently worth $15 million annually, which is far more than the $3.8 million he will receive with the Philadelphia 76ers this season.
There are other players using prediction markets besides James. For example, Giannis Antetokounmpo owns shares in Kalshi. As a Heat player in 2026–2027, Giannis is expected to earn $58.5 million.
By signing a minimal contract with the 76ers, James was able to avoid suffering a significant financial loss thanks to his paycheck from Polymarket. Naturally, James has amassed a sizable fortune over his career.
According to Spotrac, the NBA icon has earned $581.4 million throughout his career, not accounting for his off-the-court income. James earned $52.6 million while playing for the Los Angeles Lakers last season but chose a smaller contract to join the 76ers in his quest for another NBA title.
