Even when the 9-year old black kid and his little sister were crying in fear, the white woman known as ‘Cornerstore Caroline’ still called police because she believed the boy, not a man, grabbed her behind in a Brooklyn corner store.
Teresa Klein called police for the alleged sexual assault and for Jeremiah’s mom being aggressive. When surveillance footage revealed it was Jeremiah Harvey’s book bag that grazed her behind and not him physically touching her, the Klein apologized. Jeremiah doesn’t accept her apology.
“I don’t forgive this woman, and she needs help,” he told ABC New York WABC. His mother, Someko Bellille, hopes things will change within the community.
“What happened to us respecting one another, having unity and being neighborly?” Bellille said.
According to NY Times, she denies being racist and feels her reaction was fair.
There have been multiple incidents where white women and/or men are uselessly calling police on black people.
A few days after Jeremiah’s incident, a St. Louis woman stopped a black man from entering his apartment building because she felt uncomfortable. The video went viral and she has been fired from her job.
