Comedian Amy Schumer is the latest celebrity to support Kaepernick who kneeled during the national anthem to protest police brutality and racism in the country. Schumer told her reps that she disagrees with the NFL stance on Kaepernick and doesn’t plan to have any commercials air during the Super Bowl this year. Schumer is challenging white NFL players to also speak out against police brutality and racism.
Schumer previously starred in a 2016 Bud Light commercial with Seth Rogen. Maroon 5 has been rumored to be this year’s Super Bowl halftime act and she also challenged them to think about rescinding their agreement to perform as a show of support towards Kaepernick and people of color.
