A permanent memory of his draft night was engraved into Xavier Worthy‘s skin, marking a new milestone in his road to the NFL. The former wide receiver for the Texas Longhorns got a striking tattoo to commemorate being selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Worthy did not take long to capture the instant the Chiefs selected him to be their newest weapon in addition to quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Following the draft, Worthy went straight to the tattoo parlor and excitedly shared his new tattoo on social media. It was an eye-catching design of the Chiefs’ emblem on his forearm, along with the important “R:1 P:28” that indicated he was selected as the 28th overall choice.
In the video that he uploaded to his TikTok website to provide Chiefs Kingdom with his most recent artwork, his excitement was evident.
A worthy addition to the group
Worthy’s explosive 40-yard sprint timing of 4.21 seconds at the NFL combine demonstrated his exceptional quickness and dexterity, which made him a perfect fit for the Chiefs’ offensive scheme. Worthy may be smaller in appearance, but he has unquestionable on-field ability that makes him resemble former Chiefs star Tyreek Hill.
Worthy adds a dynamic playmaking ability to Kansas City’s receiving corps. He had an outstanding career at Texas with great numbers to his record, including over 1,000 receiving yards in his junior year.
By adding Worthy to their roster, the Chiefs filled a critical need in their pass-catching arsenal, bolstered by the presence of seasoned veterans like Marquise Brown and standout tight end Travis Kelce.
The Chiefs hope to improve their offense and provide Mahomes another dynamic target with Worthy’s arrival, making up for last season’s shortcomings in their receiving corps.
