Fans of MMA are worried about Conor McGregor as he prepares for his eagerly awaited comeback to the octagon after his previous night out. The Notorious is scheduled to return on June 29 at UFC 303 in Las Vegas as the main event, and his supporters can’t wait to see him do it.
He’s been relishing his Proper No. 12 Whiskey and Forged Irish Stout while he’s been away from the octagon. But his previous night out—which occurred only nine weeks before his bout with Michael Chandler on his comeback—has drawn criticism.
The Irish warrior was seen at a launch celebration at Nanny’s of Duleek in County Meath, savoring some of his Forged Stout.
Fans are nonetheless worried even if sources indicate McGregor didn’t overindulge because he had been working out hard with his sparring partners earlier in the day.
Even after sharing video of the event with his 47 million Instagram followers, some of them voiced their concerns right away. One fan wrote,
“He’s going to get hurt against Chandler! Is there nobody but yes men in his camp telling him this is still 2015?”
“Too many distractions, TBh. I’m worried about June 29.”
The prohibition on alcohol
Since then, the former two-division champion has banned alcohol from himself, realizing how crucial it is to stay focused over the last eight weeks of his training camp.
In his trilogy match against Dustin Poirier, McGregor suffered a broken left leg, which ended his career almost three years ago.
