Each week BlackSportsOnline will profile a model who is doing big things in the world of modeling and other entertainment or professional industries. At the end of the year there will be a vote for the BSO Model of the Year.
Enjoy.
Christina
I am a young, aspiring model whose goal is to be extremely successful. I was born August 12, 1985 at King’s County Hospital, in Brooklyn, New York. After 8 years, my family relocated to East Brunswick, New Jersey, where I was raised. I have a younger sister, who I love more than anything else.
Modeling has always been a dream for me; never did I think that my dream could somehow become a reality. I recently relocated to Florida with my family, and only recently decided it was time to pursue my long term dream, and give modeling a shot. I believe in the saying, “it’s better to try and fail, than not try at all.”
If someone asked me 3 years ago what I would be doing now, I would have never imagined trying to make a “name” for me. I was the girl who went everywhere in baggy sweats and a beater. Now, I’m constantly networking, hoping that maybe someone will “discover” me, and I can prove to them that I am quite unique and different.
I know that this field is surrounded by beautiful women of every race, but I promise I am “different”. I come from a Guyanese household, and I am Christian, and yes I do have values, and respect, not for only myself, but those around me as well. I am quite outspoken, and very frank…I’m easy to get along with, and I believe that beauty comes from within. God does not create “ugly”, so yes, I believe we are all beautiful.
My friends and family will tell you that I am the “goofy, crazy, spontaneous” one in the bunch, but they will also tell you, that when it comes to business, I’m 150% professional. I love being in front of that camera, when the camera comes on, i transform into a confident, energetic, focused young woman, and as far as distractions-what distractions?
“Love the people that treat you right, forget about the ones who don’t, and believe that everything happens for a reason.” I do believe that God put me on this earth for a reason. I’m not determined and focused, I’m beyond it! I know what I want, and I refuse to stop until I’ve accomplished all. Failure is not an option for me, success is a must.
