So with the Messiah Brett Farve coming back, we forgot about Albert Haynesworth and his ‘conditioning’. It seems as if training camp is too much for poor Albert. Today is day 3 of non-practice for Haynesworth. Although day 1 and 2 were due to ‘dehydration’ , day 3 seems to be an issue of a headache. Headache seems to be a common ailment when someone isn’t in the ‘mood’ to do something. *snicker*
Outside of these three days, Haynesworth missed 9 days of training camp trying to pass his conditioning test. Add these three days, and we’re looking at 11 missed days out of a potential 17 days of training camp. 11 days missed of learning and practicing a new defensive scheme. This from a guy that wants more money. I could say he has a funny way of showing it, but after the Brett Farve saga, who are we to judge. Farve skipped training camp and can get an extra $7 million dollars for skipping out on training camp. Haynesworth does need to keep in mind, he’s not in Minnesota. And while Vikings head coach Brad Childress comes across as tough as wet tissue paper, Shanahan comes across like a steel wool pad.
The lack of concern by Shanahan lets the world know something funny is going on and the bridges between the two haven’t been completely mended. The chemistry, or lack thereof is something to watch during the season. I won’t be watching the Redskins for all the winning they will do this season(sorry Redskin fans), but of the drama that is sure to unfold at some point.
