The good news is it isn’t a season ending injury.
The bad news he will be out for a significant amount of time.
Here are the details:
A person familiar with Reggie Bush’s injury says the Saints running back has a broken right fibula.
The person says Bush was expected to be examined further on Tuesday and could miss about six weeks. The Saints have taken Tuesday off and it was not immediately clear if the team planned to release any more information on Bush’s injury.
Reggie Bush might not have lived up to the expectations of the #2 pick in the NFL Draft, but for the Saints he is a very important part of their offense.
He is an explosive player, who finds his way to the end zone. When he is healthy (which has been hard for him) he is player teams have to game plan for.
A running back with wide receiver skills, who can make one move and take it to the house are hard to come by.
While he will never be the “classic” 20-25 carry workhorse back, what he does, he does well.
It has been a tough year from Reggie, hopefully he comes back stronger from this, the Saints need him.
