To say it is a shock would be an understatement. It is almost unheard of that a player of Moss’ caliber is released in the middle of the season.

He has only played a few games with the Vikings and the Vikings gave up a decent draft pick for him.

I am assuming it has something to do with the press conference he gave yesterday professing his love for the Patriots.

Any team with Super Bowl aspirations would be foolish not to take a look at picking him up.

Then again what is exactly going on in Moss’ world that two teams have said we will be better without him than with him.  There were some who question his effort in yesterday’s game against the Patriots, but that is nothing new.

Since Moss has arrived in Minnesota he has made things a lot easier for Percy Harvin and the rest of the Vikings receivers.

If it is because he criticized the organization and coaches for not using his advice against the Pats, that is a bit hypocritical since they let Brett Favre do and say whatever he wants with no repercussions.

Moss is getting very close to A.I. status, even though he still has talent teams might not want to deal with the headache.

No word if he will be taking his talents to Turkey.

Here is the current waiver order:

  2. Dallas

I was just about to send you an email about this. Can you confirm if this is true? PFT.com says that Moss isn't aware yet that he's been released, and no other details have been revealed. What gives Minnesota?

  2. Anon says:

they should have gotten rid of Childress

There is no hypocrisy that exists where Moss and Favre are concerned in Minny. Minny decided in the offseason that they were going to go all in with Brett, even if it meant a $6-$7 million dollar raise. Moss is a free agent after this season. They had no strong financial commitment to him beyond this season. He was simply a hired gun. He has talked his way off two teams in 8 weeks!!!!!!!! You know what you get with Moss. When footballs aren't raining down on him, he has a tendency to get a little pouty and a little whiny. He has a tendency to pull the "I'm misunderstood" card. No matter what anyone thinks of Brett, he never sells his team short on a football field. And by the way, he is the starting QB for Minny. QB will always outrank any other position on a football team, and deservedly so.

It’s the old Jackie Roberson law. We’ll let you play with us bot as long as you don’t make a fuss about all the disrepect you’re going to get. I mean, hese sport franchies can do say treat belittle these men and it’s cool. Why is it a must a player has to talk with the press I would love to know me myself after my squad take a L I don’t want to hear nothing from none of them. I wonder if sports fans and commentators at large will be as disgusted with the viking organization for this unexpected disgrace like they did when LeBron James did what he did.

Can I just ask people to re-read their comments before posting. Someone else might read it, and may actually want to understand it.

First of all, who the hell is Jackie Roberson???

If you're going to talk about the competition in such glowing terms IN PUBLIC, expect that you're employers will be pissed. It's as simple as that.

The post-game interview has been a part of the business for a long time. It's not as if the NFL just came up with the rule last week. Don't know why, but it's part of the job. As long as that's the case, players will (and better) do it. The athletes who go up to the podium after the game, win or lose, make as much money in (a very arduous) four hours as some people make all year. For that kind of money I'll be more than happy to throw a bunch of canned/scripted answers at some reporters.

Not understanding the James comparisons. How is it an "unexpected disgrace"? It's not as if he was bringing anything to the team. Not to mention they didn't set up an hour long special to announce what they were going to do.

  5. Marie says:

Childress is a fool and one of the worst coaches out there. They should get rid of him and Farve,Randy is one of the best I'm sure someone will be glad to pick him up.Best of luck to you Randy. If the Pats had been smart they would of never let him go he gave 100%

    • Robert Littal says:

Randy is not totally innocent in the matter, but dumb move to release him. Basically wasted a draft pick for a month

    • WowYouSerious says:

There are times when I sincerely stop and wonder if people even think twice about the things they say in their comments. As of right now, this is one of those moments.

The patriots removed a cancer from their locker room, and its evident. The next team (or Childress) didn't wanto to deal with his crap either, especially when you go to the media and praise your former team (and coach) but degrade your current team. I mean Moss is being a baby, and the problem is with his mouth. If he would shut it and just collect his "Straight Cash Homey", everything would be copacetic.

In other news, speaking to the media is certainly in professional athletes contracts – they know they have to do it. This is not something new, and Moss shouldn't be such a baby making threats about not speaking to the media. Grow up bro. Learn from Mcnabb: memorize a bunch of scripted professional answers and you'll never get any backlash, AND you'll be 25,000$ richer per interview.

  6. Rod says:

Patriots weren't dumb for releasing randy, they won 3 championships without a freak wideout………..and they're undefeated without him so far…..chemistry>everything else to the patriots

It’s nearly impossible to find experienced people for this subject, however, you seem like you know what you’re talking about! Thanks

  9. Isreal says:

Yes, I looked it up…. and it is right.
