T.O. took time out from helping Ron Artest’s NFL aspirations to give his thoughts on Jets corner Darrelle Revis.
Owens who is having a great year on an awful team, has been back to his quotable ways.
Check out his thoughts on Revis:
“Just an average corner to me,” the Bengals wide receiver told reporters in Cincinnati. “Everybody has assessed his abilities as far as what he did last year, shutdown corner, this and that. He did very well last year. But I think I’m looking forward to the challenge, just like he’s looking forward to the challenge.”
Revis refused to engage in a war of words with Owens, telling ESPNNewYork.com, “I’ll see him on Thursday night. … Everybody knows T.O. He’s going to be T.O.”
I think the legend of Revis is a bit overblown, but to call him average wouldn’t be accurate.
The truth be told, a lot of Owens’ success this year is based off the fact that most of the coverage has been rolled to Ocho Cinco leaving Owens in single coverage which he has taken advantage of.
Now that teams see that Owens is the number one option, he will be getting more attention.
My guess is Revis shows he is a better than average and shuts down T.O. on Thursday.
