OK, so we are all in a post lockout euphoric haze, but other stuff is still going on. And since today is Monday, here is a little wrestling nugget for you.

WWE.com announced today that Cee Lo Green would be preforming at this year’s SummerSlam pay per view on August 14. His song, “Bright Lights, Bigger City” is the official theme song of the event.

Check out the video here:

WWE has always known how to use music (anybody remember Junk Yard Dog’s Grab Dem Cakes) whether its to promote their events or as an entrance theme for a wrestler. The relationship with hip hop artists has always been strong, Snoop Dogg and Timbaland have hosted Raw recently and they once released an album of WWE theme songs performed by artists like Ice-T, Run DMC and members of the Wu Tang Clan.

But I cant think of an artist out right now who is a better fit for a WWE event. Cee Lo has always been as much about the theatrics as well as the music. It should be fun to see what he pulls out at one of the signature pay per views the WWE offers.
