Yao Ming to Retire From NBA Effective Immediately

This is being reported by Yahoo Sports Adrian Wojnarowski.
He has informed the league offices within the last 48 hours of his plans to retire from the NBA effective immediately.
Sad day because Yao had the potential to be one of the great centers of our generation, but injuries similar to Bill Walton derail him.
Greg Oden I hope you are paying attention because this is probably the same path your career is going. With Centers in the NBA it is extremely high risk and high reward, but the majority of time it just doesn’t work out.

Where was the sympathy for T-Mac? The Rockets didn’t even want him after he got injured, but somehow they were still hoping overrated Yao would be back…
