In an ultimate “psych your mind” move, the New York Giants have rescinded permission for Osi Umenyiora to seek a trade. The Giants were seeking a team that was willing to give up a first round draft pick for Osi. To date Tony Agnone, Umenyiora’s agent, has yet to find a taker and he probably won’t.
The Giants are seemingly looking to eliminate the distraction that Osi is causing during training camp. While Umenyiora has been in training camp since Saturday, he has yet to practice due to an alleged undisclosed injury. At least one of Osi’s teammates feel as if he is healthy enough to practice and the Giants have yet to confirm the injury leading most to believe that the relationship is tense at best.
Umenyiora is scheduled to make $7.1 million over the next 2 seasons.
