This is a nice publicity stunt for the Chicago Rush, but it is further embarrassment for Terrell Owens. T.O. has burned so many bridges over the years, you can see people especially in the media getting a kick out of the fact, he doesn’t have a job and no one came to his workout.
It is possible he has been blackballed out of the NFL. That is partially his fault and partially the media’s fault, but the reality is that it isn’t look good for T.O.
The Rush announced Wednesday that they have extended a contract offer to the six-time NFL Pro Bowl wide receiver for the 2012 season.
“We feel that this is an ideal time to approach the future NFL Hall of Famer,” Rush general manager and president Gene Nudo said in a statement. “It would be a fantastic honor to add Terrell to our current roster for the 2012 season.”
I said this the day I found out that T.O. torn his ACL that is was more likely his career would be over before he got another shot in the NFL.
Owens is right it only takes one team, but ask Jeff George, Marvin Harrison or Tiki Barber sometimes that call never comes.
