Terrell Owens Releases Statement on Sam Hurd’s Drug Arrest

Not exactly sure why T.O. felt the need to issue an official press release.

I don’t know if anyone was clamoring to hear what he had to say about the situation.  He and Hurd are friends, so I understand his concern for his friend, but still don’t see the point of releasing a statement to the media.

Here is what he had to say.

“I count Sam as my good friend. Like everyone else, I was shocked and extremely saddened with the news of his arrest. I have not been able to reach him but hope to speak to him soon. I have spent much time with him and know his family. It would never cross my mind that Sam would ever be dealing or using drugs. This is completely out of character for him. While I do not condone any behavior that is illegal or drug-related, I do hope in these challenging days ahead, he knows that I am here for him and his family. This is really such an unfortunate tragedy for Sam, his family and the NFL.”-Terrell Owens

I think it would have been better if T.O. just keep this private.  If he wants to be there for Hurd do it behind the scenes, because that is where he is going to need it.

  • LMBO @ A.C. look at this at this mess….I’m a friend indeed but one that’s in need” that’s what friends are for” Damn, T.O. do you need Lovey Smith’s phone number?

  • I agree, this is a private matter and TO should have kept it private! What was his purpose in going public? He said, “I’m here for him and his family,” well, be there for your own family! Pay your child support!

  • I hope that you don’t mean you are here for his family financially, cause you are broke.

  • TOTALLY AGREE and LMAOOOOO at @A.C and @Free !!!
