Cris Carter Admits Being Involved in Several Bounty Programs

When he wasn’t dropping S Bombs on Mike and Mike, Cris Carter tells us what we already knew.

Bounty programs have been going on for years.

“I’m guilty of it,” Carter said. “It’s the first time I’ve ever admitted it. But I put a bounty on guys before. I put bounties on guys. And the guys tried to take me out, a guy tried to take a cheap shot on me, I put a bounty on him, right now.”

“A money bounty?” Mark Schlereth asked.

“Absolutely,” Carter said.

“Protect me. . . . Protect me from him. . . . Especially if he’s playing a different position where I can’t protect myself,” Carter said. “I’d tell one of them guards, ‘Hey man, this dude is after me, man. Bill Romanowski.’ He told me he’s gonna me out before the game, in warmups. No problem. ‘I’m gonna end your career, Carter.’ No problem. I put a little change on his head before the game. Protect myself, protect my family. That’s the league that I grew up in.”

  • He’s thinking that they are not going to vote me into the Hall of Fame anyway. And, I’m going to say something to get people’s attention; after all, wide receivers are about “Me and my money.”

  • Cris Carter is full of ***t. This bounty story has been out for a few months and he never mentioned anything of this nature. I find it hard to believe that now all of a sudden while on the Hill & Schlereth show last night he confesses to putting a bounty out on a guy????

I was listening to it live last night and he sounded like a guy adlibbing (lying) as he was telling the story. I mean he was on Mike & Mike the same day and never mentioned ever putting a bounty out on anyone, let alone Romanowski.

    C’mon man……..
