The Newark Star Ledger is reporting that two brainy walk-on Virginia Tech football players have been suspended for making a detonating an explosive device.
Blacksburg police say 20-year-old Joshua Trimble and 19-year-old Brian Rody were arrested Sunday after an explosion near their apartment.
Tech Spokesman Bryan Johnson released a statement.
under university policy, players facing felony charges are suspended until charges are resolved. A preliminary hearing is set for Jan. 24. The Hokies play Rutgers in the Russell Athletic Bowl on Dec. 28.
Both players are redshirt freshman from Ashburn, Virginia.
Well at least they are using the skills they are learning in school.
