As we’ve continued to update the people, Robert Griffin III had reconstructive knee surgery this morning to repair a torn LCL and partially torn ACL.
Jay Glazer via Dr. James Andrews is reporting that RG3 did in fact have successful surgery this morning.
Here is the rest of Dr. Andrews statement.
Statement for Dr James Andrews: “Robert Griffin III had successful knee surgery early this morning. He had a direct repair of his LCL and a re-do of his previous ACL reconstruction. We expect a full recovery and it is everybody’s hope and belief that due to Robert’s high motivation, he will be ready for the 2013 season
RG3 is 7 months away from the regular season right now. Adrian Peterson did the miraculous, and ripped his knee up about 14 days prior to Griffin III last season.
The countdown has begun.
