11-year Ravens’ veteran safety, Ed Reed says he has no plans on retiring after this season.
BaltimoreSun.com reported words that many Ravens fans have been waiting to hear. Reed said defiantly
“I’ll be playing next year if that’s what you are all asking, so next question,”
Reed has been teetering towards retirement for the past few seasons, but this year put all doubts to rest and made it clear that he will play next season.
Reed will be entering next season as a free agent, and with the Ravens tight on salary things could be interesting in the off season. But for now Reed is full of smiles, rejoicing in the anticipation of giving his all in what will be his very first Super Bowl trip.
Although Reed has been racked with injury all season long he has played in every game, something his defensive counterparts can’t say. The 34-year-old vet still managed to pull in 4 interceptions and 68 tackles, which is a quiet year for the big move plays he’s known for.
