Yesterday we reported on Cowboys defensive tackle Jay Ratliff being arrested for DWI early Tuesday morning after his pickup slammed into an 18-wheeler.
Ratliff’s police report is now public news, and according to ESPN Dallas, it’s not nice. Ratliff was “verbally abusive several times” after being arrested early Tuesday morning, according to a probable cause affidavit from the Grapevine police.
The arresting officer Eric Barch wrote that Ratliff had been “cooperative and courteous” at the scene of the accident, but that his “demeanor changed considerably” after being transported to jail.
According to the report, Ratliff showed 12 different clues of intoxication, but after failing his field sobriety test, blamed it on the December hernia surgery he had.
Ratliff told police that he had been “chillin’ with a homegirl” and was on his way home. When asked why he was so far away from his house, Ratliff said he followed directions from his truck’s navigation system.
