New York Jets head coach Ryan watches on the sidelines during their NFL football game against the Buffalo Bills in Orchard Park

The Jets mess as I like to call it, could drag on beyond 2013.  The Jets are capped strapped currently $20 million over.  They owe Sanchez a guaranteed $8.5 million, and oh yea according to ESPN New York, owner Woody Johnson has let all prospective GM candidates know that they can’t fire Rex Ryan this year.

Cimini:  the Jets are telling GM candidates “they won’t be considered unless they agree to keep Rex Ryan for a year.”

That could explain why so many general manager candidates are reluctant to jump at the massive rebuilding job in New York.
