To be the best at what you do for a living, I believe that you have to think you are the best. Creating positive thoughts and momentum for yourself, even if realistically that may not be the case.
Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman has never been one to be at a loss for words, especially when it comes to his own play and performance. After a great season, it appears Sherman is looking to claim the best corner in the league title. Even going as far to tweet a picture of his and Jets cornerback Darelle Revis’ bio together, making the case with nothing other than the pure stats.
Sherman wasn’t done there, going as far to also tweet the following:
“Sometimes the truth needs to be told. Tired of the noise lol. Btw I am near the least targeted corner in the League. So keep the excuses” – @Rsherman_25
Strong words from Sherman, words that make you wonder, does he have a point?
In my opinion, it’s easy to make a claim like this after Darelle Revis missed the majority of the season with a ACL tear. Before doing that, Revis was the best corner for at least the past 2 years.
I’d like to see a fully healthy season from both, and then discuss. Not saying Sherman doesn’t have a point now, but with the longevity Revis had before the injury I still think he lays claim to the best corner title.
