Clippers star point guard Chris Paul had his #3 jersey retired by Wake Forest during halftime of their game against Maryland today.
The university is celebrating “Chris Paul Day.”
Paul led Wake Forest to its first No. 1 ranking in 2004 and a spot in the Sweet Sixteen. During his two seasons at the school, Wake Forest went 48-16 and made two NCAA tournament appearances.
“He was back in December for an afternoon and took two busloads (of children) to Toys ‘R’ Us and bought a bunch of Christmas presents for some kids,” assistant athletic director Mike Odom told WFMY News'”Good Morning Show.” “He’s just been a great ambassador not only for the Triad community but for Wake Forest also and we’re excited to have him back.”
Kudos to CP3, well deserved.
