Jacksonville Jaguars starting quarterback Blaine Gabbert will be playing next season as a lame duck quarterback. If Gabbert takes the next step and succeed’s, then all is well on the Jaguars first round investment.
If Gabbert flames out and cannot keep his job, then he’ll probably go the way of David Carr, and either be pushed out of the league, or spend the rest of his years as a backup.
Yahoo Sports is reporting that even thought the perception is that the Jaguars fully support Gabbert, behind the scenes that is not the case.
One former Jaguars assistant has recently gone on record as saying he takes responsibility for nothing. As the assistant said, “nothing’s ever his fault.”
The 23-year-old Gabbert reportedly is referred to as “Blame Gabbert” around the Jaguars team facility. Gabbert is constantly questioned about his leadership, attitude, and accountability.
I think Gabbert is destined to be a clipboard holder throughout his career. At least he can say he was a #10 overall pick.
