The Dallas Cowboys are very close to working out a new deal that will make Tony Romo a very rich man. As it has been reported, the Cowboys and Romo are diligently working towards a contract extension.
Jones would like to get a deal done soon so that it can help free up some salary cap room. No numbers have been discussed at this point, but as Jones told the Star-Telegram, he won’t be paid like a bus driver.
“Romo, of course, is someone that I expect our staff, our offensive staff, to deploy Romo according to his pay scale,” Jones said. “Stay tuned, but he’s going to have high expectations, I promise you that. He is not going to be paid to be a bus driver.”
Expect Romo’s deal to be somewhere near what Joe Flacco received.
