I’m not sure if it will be title the Cushing rule, but Houston Texans linebacker Brian Cushing got his wish. Pro Football Talk is reporting that the NFL today banned the low chop block from behind that ended Cushing’s season in October.
The rule change will go into effect this coming 2013 season. The rule will be consistent everywhere on the field, and block from behind to the lower extremities will draw a serious penalty.
After so many years of offensive players being protected, defenders are now starting to feel the love.
