Sometimes, it is difficult, when you are over 30 years old, to remember what you were like when you were 16 or 17 years old. I stepped on the Ohio State campus when I was 18 and just thinking back on it, on a lot of the things I saw on that college campus, I still shake my head at times. A lot of illegal things and a lot of things, in retrospect I know were morally wrong.
One thing though, that any man should know, from age 10 to 100, is if a woman is not in her right mind for whatever the reason, don’t have sex with her.
If she is on drugs, if she is drunk, if you heard she was easy, if she slept with you last week and etc, it doesn’t matter, just don’t do it.
There was a lot of testimony in the Steubenville rape case. Lot of text messages, videos, photos, witnesses for both the defense and prosecution.
They all could be telling some form of the truth, but the fact remains for whatever the reason, the rape victim wasn’t in her right mind and if you are a man regardless of what you think, that means she is off limits.
Are these boys rapists in the truest sense of the word? Only they know what they really did and only she knows if she falsely accused them. But, regardless of what bad decisions you think the young lady made, it was pretty clear she was in no position to think clearly and as a man you don’t take that risk. That is the reason they were found guilty.
Two members of the high school football team that is the pride of Steubenville were found guilty Sunday of raping a drunken 16-year-old girl in a case that bitterly divided the Rust Belt city and led to accusations of a cover-up to protect the community’s athletes.
Steubenville High School students Trent Mays and Ma’Lik Richmond were sentenced to at least a year in juvenile jail, capping a case that came to light via a barrage of morning-after text messages, social media posts and online photos and video. Mays was sentenced to an additional year in jail on a charge of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material, to be served after his rape sentence is completed.
I know how big high school football is in Ohio, but this should be a lesson to all men young and old. It isn’t worth it, not matter how big a man on campus you are.
