Just as I thought I could discontinue referring to the New York Jets as a mess, I believe John Idzik has a little bit of Mike Tannenbaum in him, and enjoys the circus atmosphere.
Bob Glauber of Newsday is reporting that according to a source close to the situation, the Jets will hold on to Mark Sanchez until the preseason at least.
League source: #Jets expected to retain QB Mark Sanchez into preseason, let him compete for starting job. Sanchez to show up for work tomw.

I truly understand that the Jets owe Sanchez $8.25 million guaranteed and don’t want to cut him today and still owe that money. I get that point.
Tomorrow though the New York Jets will get back to work with five quarterbacks currently on the roster, and the heir apparent, Geno Smith, on his way.
You don’t want to cut Sanchez as a franchise right now, I’m fine with that. What is the purpose of continuing to keep Garrard, McElroy, and most embarrassing, Tebow on the roster.
By holding on to Sanchez until the preseason, you take the opportunity away for him to catch on with another team right away.
The Jets pretty much ruined his career, the least they owe him is a dignified release.
Yea the Jets are still a mess.
