The Washington Nationals like a number of other teams that were expected to accomplish big things this season, have struggled so far. The Nationals 24-23 record is respectable, but they’re second-worst hitting team in the major leagues sporting a woeful .225 average.
Well, according a story via Yahoo! Sports, Nationals manager Davey Johnson, is trying everything he can to get the team out of its prolonged funk including, not shaving.
”I figured I couldn’t get any uglier, so what the heck.”
The Nationals sit 4.5 games behind the Atlanta Braves in the National League East Division, so all isn’t lost, but the team needs to come out of the slump sooner rather than later if they are to keep pace with their rivals.
Said Johnson: ”Maybe I can change the luck.”
