Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice is as complete a back that you’ll find in the NFL, but great backs need to stay healthy too.
With his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield, the Ravens know they have plenty of opportunities to get Rice the ball during a game.
According to the teams website, the Ravens may give more of his carries to talented second year guy Bernard Pierce.
Rice had 257 carries to Pierce’s 108 last year, but a strong showing from Pierce could balance out that distribution a little more.
It will definitely take some of the pressure off of Joe Flacco, to have two talented but different running backs wearing defenses down.
