Grow played with the Jaguars and Chiefs in the early 90s, but he had one of those anonymous NFL careers people forget about as soon as he was cut.
He is back in the news now, but for all the wrong reasons.
A 41-year-old Redington Beach man faces a charge of child abuse after authorities said he left a 3-year-old girl alone in a car while he went into a strip club.
Monty Ray Grow, 41, was caught Sunday night at the Diamond Dolls club, on U.S. 19 near Clearwater. Grow is a former NFL player and also was a Florida Gator.
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said Grow was supposed to be caring for the toddler when he went into the strip club.
Grow was the baby sitter, but decided a night at home watching Dora wasn’t in the plans. The child’s mother (nice job picking Grow to watch your kid) found the child by using the car’s GPS system and then called the cops.
When Grow saw the cops, he fled, but was eventually caught. The child was unharmed thankfully.
