The Indiana Pacers have a problem that every team in the NBA would love to have.
The Pacers are loaded at almost every position, and with that comes some decision-making on who sits or plays. With Danny Granger coming back from injury, Luis Scola acquired in a trade, and Chris Copeland coming over from the Knicks, Pacers head coach Frank Vogel has some choices to make.
One person Vogel won’t have a problem with is guard Lance Stephenson.
Stephenson told the Indianapolis Star that he is willing to do whatever the Pacers need him to do, and “he has no problem coming off the bench.”
Q: Despite having an outstanding season, there’s been a lot of speculation you may go back to coming off the bench this season, especially if Danny Granger is healthy and ready. Would you be OK with that?
A: I’m just coming in to play hard. Whatever coach (Frank Vogel) decides to do, I think it’s a great decision. Me coming off the bench, Danny coming off the bench, either way, we’re deep. Whatever helps the team, that’s what I want to do.
Stephenson answered the question correctly, and should continue to be a strong presence for the Pacers.
