Derek Fisher is deciding it’s over.
After an 18 year NBA career the five time NBA champion has decided this coming season will be his last. Fisher made the announcement via his Instagram account.
While Fisher isn’t considered to be a first ballot hall of fame player, his contributions to the NBA cannot be ignored. In 2006, he became president of the players union as well as supported the referee lockout of 2009. Perhaps his biggest contribution off the court came during the 2011 NBA lockout where he helped end the disagreement between the players and the owners.
Whatever Derek Fisher decides to do after retirement is unknown, but we do know that Fisher will be a hard worker at whatever he does.
