With the internet and social media being so prevalent in today’s sports news cycle, transactions are sometimes reported well before a team wants it known, or before players even find out.

Caron Butler learned the Clippers traded him to Phoenix through the crawl on the bottom of the television according to NBA.com. 

“I don’t leave with bitterness or anything, but a phone call would have helped the situation,” said Butler… “But it’s cool, it’s no hard feelings because that’s the nature of the business.”

That is the business in this day and time, but Butler is a consummate professional, and deserved a phone call.
