The Cleveland Cavaliers saw loads of potential in 6-foot-8, 240-pound power forward Anthony Bennett when they made him the No. 1 overall draft pick in last June’s NBA draft.
So far Bennett has done nothing to warrant such a lofty selection.
It’s only been three games, but Bennett still hasn’t scored his first NBA basket, and it’s beginning to frustrate him according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
“I just feel like there’s a lid on the basket,” he said quietly after the Cavs’ 89-74 loss to the Pacers on Saturday night at Bank Life Fieldhouse. “Three games and no shots went in, but I just have to keep working.”
Bennett blew his only easy chance for a bucket when he fumbled a fast break opportunity all by himself.
”If it happens, [if] the opportunity comes, I’m going to try to dunk it. Other than that, I just have to work on my team, get rebounds, defend.”
