Drew Brees: I’ll Help Saints Stay Under The Cap

Like every successful franchise in the NFL, the New Orleans Saints have to figure out how to best manage the salary cap while maintaining their winning ways.

Drew Brees has just finished leading the Saints to their fourth playoff appearance in five seasons, and is paid accordingly.  Brees told Yahoo Sports that he likes the direction of the team, and is willing to do whatever to help keep the team under the salary cap.

After leading the Saints to a fourth playoff appearance in five seasons, Drew Brees likes the direction of his team and says he’s willing to listen to contract proposals if the team needs his help getting under the NFL’s salary cap.

Brees says he’ll consider whatever ”puts the best team on the field,” and would be interested in extending his five-year, $100 million deal beyond the three years it has left.

The Saints are facing a decision on how to proceed with Jimmy Graham, their talented tight end who wants to be paid like a star.
