When Dwight Howard got traded to the Los Angeles Lakers prior to last season, he put on his best fake smile in an effort to convince everyone that he was happy to be there but he really wasn’t fooling anyone.
Now that he is with a team of his choosing the Houston Rockets, Howard looks back at the difficult times he endured when his name was bandied about in trade rumors and is glad he’s past all that.
Howard also told Basketball Insiders that when the alleged trade to the Brooklyn Nets fell through, it took him a while to get over it.
“I thought the Brooklyn thing was going to come through at the end of the season,” Howard said of a potential trade to the Nets. “It was something that was promised, but it didn’t happen. Once it didn’t happen I figured everything happens for a reason. I just let it go. I was upset for a while, but I just let it go.”
No one is more happy that Dwight is in his happy place than I am. Writing about his silly behavior all summer got exhausting after a while.
