Johnny Manziel played his final game for Texas A&M on Tuesday night in the Chic Fil-A Bowl and he put on the show of shows. Manziel accounted for 455 total yards, 4 touchdowns and helped the Aggies secure a 52-48 over No. 22 Duke.
Manziel and Texas A&M were down 38-17 at the half.
“I was in a zone I haven’t been in before,” Manziel said. “Ever. I just wanted this game.”
Just in how much of a zone was Manziel in you ask?
Well if you missed the game while out partying, you missed a magical Houdini like escape from Johnny Football. With his team trailing the Blue Devils by 21 points early in the third quarter Manziel saw an opening near the line of scrimmage and took off for it like he always does.
A Duke lineman prevented Manziel from jumping over him, and it looked like a sack was coming on the play. Manziel somehow stay up and fired this beautiful touchown pass to Travis Labhart for a 19-yard touchdown.
Johnny Manziel will do fine in the NFL because he simply has it. God doesn’t bless every player with it, but when he does, you see things like this.
