Julianna-Pena-Knee-Injury

Julianna Pena was the winner of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ season 18 and was scheduled to compete in her first UFC PPV fight at UFC 171. All of those plans are on hold now after Julianna suffered a major knee injury while training.

According to MMA Fighting Pena’s injury is the worst possible:

Pena (5-2), the first female winner of The Ultimate Fighter, suffered the injury on Monday while grappling in training, ultimately damaging, among other aspects, her ACL, MCL, LCL and meniscus. She is expected to undergo surgery next Thursday in Los Angeles.

It’s a sad turn of events for Pena, she had all of the makings of a future superstar. She was supremely talented in the octagon and had the look to carry her outside of the cage.
