I guess the heroes of NYC had some steam to blow off.
According to the New York Daily News, the NYPD and NYFD got into a bench-clearing brawl during their annual charity hockey game at the home of the New York Islanders, the Nassau Coliseum.
During the second period, with the score tied 3-3, players from both sides began pairing up to fight and that’s when the benches emptied and all hell broke loose. Everyone except the goaltenders got in on the action. The game eventually resumed and the NYPD went on to beat the Firefighters 8-5.
Judging by the chants from the crowd, the NYPD squad was not the fan-favorite, as if that surprises anyone.
