Ryan Boatright will get the keys to the UConn backcourt. The junior shooting guard will return for his senior season. Boatright averaged 12.1 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.4 assists last season for the national champion Huskies.
He and senior Shabazz Napier dominated every opposing backcourt they ran up against in the tournament.
He’ll be the leading option in scoring for the Huskies, who will be a top-20 preseason team.
“I couldn’t be happier that Ryan will be back with us next season,” UConn coach Kevin Ollie said in a statement. “Not only for his terrific basketball talents, but to provide tremendous senior leadership for us, both on and off the court. The growth and maturity he has shown throughout his career has been wonderful and I expect that to continue as he works toward his degree.”
