Are the Jacksonville Jaguars returning to the days of Tom Coughlin and Mark Brunell. For years, the running joke was that veteran players signed with the Jaguars for a paid vacation.
Jaguars owner Shad Khan said those days are over.
“There’s no sense of entitlement anymore,” Khan said, per The Florida Times-Union. “You’re not going to have one of our ex-players saying he’s coming back from a paid vacation in Florida anymore.
“To me, when you come here (now), you absolutely feel the drive and the hunger, whether it’s on the business side or on the football side. You need that to become successful.”
Khan was obviously alluding to former Jaguars cornerback Aaron Ross saying his one-year stint with the Jaguars in 2012 was like a ‘nice paid vacation.’
