I can understand Jameis Winston’s dad wanting to keep his son out of trouble, but I’m not sure a walking babysitter is the answer. On the heels of the reigning Heisman Trophy winner receiving a citation for stealing crab legs from Publix, Antonor Winston told USA Today that everyone involved with Jamies dropped the ball.
“Not only him. I think it should show the university and us, I think we probably kind of dropped the ball on that a little bit,” Antonor Winston told USA Today.
The elder Winston doesn’t seem convinced that his son is mature enough to handle some of the situations presented to him, and believes Jameis would benefit from 24/7 supervision.
“He’s supposed to have somebody around him 24/7,” he said. “He a Heisman Trophy winner, so (he’s) definitely not supposed to be by (himself).”
