Is this the big name Lakers fans are looking for? The Lakers have had a trend of talking to coaches with lots of experience as they search for the man to replace Mike D’Antoni and according to the LA Times, they will interview Alvin Gentry:
The Lakers became more interested in talking with Gentry after speaking with several coaches and executives who raved about Gentry’s offensive philosophy, according to one executive.
Can confirm Clippers associate head coach Alvin Gentry will interview w/ the Lakers this week. BT reported first.

Gentry was 335-370 in his 12 seasons as head coach of the Suns, Clippers, and Pistons. He was in charge of the Clippers offense last season but who knows how much better that looks when you have Chris Paul. He is an interesting guy to look at though. We will see how he does with his interview.
