Although frowned upon by some for their sometime ominous use, the NFL is considering using drones to film training camps.
Per a source with knowledge of the plans, the NFL’s in-house media conglomerate plans to use drones during production of this year’s Inside Training Camp series on NFL Network. While not a done deal yet, the plans are in place to use remote-controlled hovercraft to obtain TV images of practice.
The use of drones would be a cheaper option for the league and it’s anticipated that the footage captured may be used for coaching or even showing footage at games or during television broadcasts.
As the technology becomes more advanced, expect to hear more and more about the use of drones.
