Less than two weeks after announcing his retirement from the NFL due to a series of neck injuries, former Giants RB David Wilson has a new dream. He wants to compete in the 2016 Olympics for the USA track team doing the triple jump.
Via Sports Illustrated:
“I’ll be going back to school to get my degree and training for the Olympics,” Wilson said. “That’s something I really want to aspire to do now. I was the national champion twice in high school junior and senior year and was an All-American in college [at Virginia Tech].“
He plans on training with his former track coach at Virginia Tech. The news of his retirement was very disheartening so it’s great to see him keeping his head up and looking toward the future.
