One thing stands between Conor McGregor and a UFC title shot, Dennis Siver.
With Cub Swanson losing to Frankie Edgar this past weekend, the door is open for Conor McGregor to get a title shot this summer. He’s already antagonized champion, Jose Aldo, and still refuses to correctly pronounce his name. Conor wasn’t shy about wanting the title fight during the UFC’s ‘Time is Now’ press conference:
Dennis Siver was none-to-thrilled with Conor’s antics and he is the only one that can keep McGregor from a title shot this summer. They are scheduled to fight at UFC Fight Night 59 on January 18th in Boston. If McGregor wins then he’s set for a mega-fight this summer with Jose Aldo, but if he loses the featherweight division is thrown for a loop and Frankie Edgar takes the spot of #1 contender.
McGregor will have to justify the hype and all of his talk in January and prove that he’s worth the hype.
