Reporter Marisa Martin felt that is was appropriate to make light of the shooting that occurred at Florida State’s campus late Wednesday night. Martin tweeted that the gunman may have been on campus to shoot Jameis. After several people responded to her insensitive tweet, Martin deleted it. She then made an apology sort of.
A sort of apology doesn’t really work well when it comes to a situation where people could’ve potentially died. Since Martin’s sort of apology, her Twitter account has been deleted, and claims she was hacked. Hacked? Ok…

*UPDATE*
ESPN has released a statement to BSO.
“Campus Connection participants are not ESPN employees; they’re students gaining practical experience in TV production. What happened at Florida State is a tragedy. We hope for healing for the victims and that community.”
Basically, she made a pretty bad choice last night and hopefully it will be a lesson learned that certain things you can’t joke about especially if you are in media. Your reputation is too important and whatever your say will follow you forever, so be very careful before you hit send.
