Kevin Garnett has made more than $315 million during his NBA career, and is actually the highest paid player in NBA history.
Garnett doesn’t want to be an NBA general manager or coach when his playing days are over, but did tell Yahoo Sports that he’d like to “put together a group and purchase the Minnesota Timberwolves when he retires.”
“I want to buy the Timberwolves. Put a group together and perhaps some day try to buy the team. That’s what I want,” Garnett said after a 107-99 loss to the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night.
The Timberwolves drafted the guy who would go on to become the “big ticket,” with the fifth overall pick in the 1995 NBA draft. Garnett played for the Timberwolves for 12 seasons before being traded to the Celtics.
The Timberwolves were valued at $430 million last January.
