Marc Gasol is in his 7th NBA season, with all of them being in Memphis.
The 7-footer will hit free agency next summer. His older brother Pau spoke on a possible landing spot for Marc.
Pau Gasol turned down the Knicks in free agency this summer. But he told reporters on Wednesday that it’s “possible” his brother could end up in the Big Apple.
Pau elaborated about the possibility.
“It’s a personal decision,” Pau Gasol said. “I talked to my brother enough about Phil that he knows what he brings to the table. I don’t know how much he’s involved with the team, really. He’s in an upstairs position, management position. He’s not on the court every day, so it’s something that [Marc] will consider when he gets to that point.”
With Carmelo Anthony deciding to stay in New York, it’s essential for Phil Jackson to bring in more talent moving forward. If the Knicks are able to get Gasol, that would definitely be a step in the right direction.
